EIDT 6110: Advanced Instructional Design
This course was an extension of EIDT 6100, a course that focused on various instructional design systems including ADDIE, Dick and Carey’s model, Rapid Prototyping, Kemp’s model, and SAM. In this course, I delved into the instructional design process on a deeper and more individual level. I modified and implemented the instructional module I had begun in EIDT 6100 and learned how to utilize an instructional design system from start to finish.

EIDT 6120: Multimedia Design & Development
I examined the affect design can have on an instructional message and visual literacy and used Adobe Creative Suite 6 to practice and implement those principles.

EDUC 6135: Distance Education
We examined web-facilitated learning, blended/hybrid learning, and fully online instructional programs as we discussed the different models, learning theories, and technologies used in distance education and impact of those choices. As a cumulative project, I created a mock philosophy course using Blackboard's CourseSites.

EDUC 6145: Project Management in Education and Training
This course drove home the importance of planning and documentation for any kind of project (which also helps the manager keep the project on track). I learned about a number of tools project managers can use to ensure the project team is on task and informed throughout the process as well as intervention strategies when problems or issues arise.

EIDT 6130: Program Evaluation
Evaluation is one of the most important parts of instructional design. After all, evaluation is the heart of instructional design and an ongoing process with all projects. In this course, I learned about a variety of evaluation methods along with their implementation and I created a plan to evaluate the NWEA's MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment at Colegio Americano de Torreon.

EIDT 6910: Capstone
In my final course of the M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology, I utilized all of my skills and knowledge to create an instructional module for the Colegio Americano de Torreon's library databases. I worked closely with Andrea Bravin, the library coordinator, to create instructional videos, user guides, and assessments. The final product is an self-paced instructional module for four library databases that Colegio Americano's students and staff can use to learn about the databases or to refresh their memories for an upcoming project.
